John 19:2~3
And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,
And said, Hail, King of Jews! and they smote him with their hands.
I wondered how many of us watched "The Passion of Christ"? Maybe some of us thought it's overly exagerrating. Well, that's where you are wrong.. It's way under rated.. The actor who was acting as Jesus, even though he was wearing some sort of specially made protection, he still got hurt from the whipping, and you imagine someone who went through this, someone who is innocent of ALL sins, going through it like he was a criminal?
I wondered how many of us thought we are ever worthy of Him going through all these humiliation, these pains. When I first watched it when it came out, i couldnt stand it. i want it to stop, because I was so unworthy. As much as I was still experiencing spiritual high after watching, it didnt sink in much.
When I watched it in Kenya again, i had those thoughts again. Suddenly, all the sins that i had and still struggling with, suddenly just seemed so stupid. And the funny thing was, God brought to my mind 2 Cor 12:9
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
Again, i teared..
No this is not a Good Friday message. But do we really have to wait till Good Friday to reflect?
Yes, indeed He has risen! But let's not take His love for granted. Let's surrender our lives to Him TOTALLY!
Ahhhh.. I feel another song coming through.. Hee... But MercyMe beat me to it!
I surrender All
Nails in your hands
Nail in your feet
tell me how much you love me
thorns in your brow
they tell me how
you bore so much shame to love me
(MY FAVE PART!!!)
and when the heavens pass away
all your scars will still remain
and forever they will say
how much you love me
forever my love
forever my heart
forever my life is yours
it's yours
(Repeats a few times)
