They found the stone rolled away from the tomb. Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. —Luke 24:2-3

People tend to remember negative images more than they do positive ones, according to an experiment conducted at the University of Chicago. While people claim that they want to turn away from the barrage of bad news in the media—reports on tragedies, diseases, economic downturns—this study suggests that their minds are drawn to the stories.
Catherine Hankey (1834–1911) was more interested in the “good news.” She had a great desire to see young women come to know Christ. In 1866, she became very ill. As she lay in bed, she thought about all those with whom she had shared the story of Jesus’ redemption, and she wished that someone would visit and comfort her with “the old, old story.” That’s when she wrote the poem that later became a hymn, “Tell Me the Old, Old Story”:
Tell me the story slowly, that I may take it in—
That wonderful redemption, God’s remedy for sin.
Tell me the story often, for I forget so soon;
The early dew of morning has passed away at noon.
We never tire of hearing the story that because of His great love God sent His one and only Son to this earth (John 3:16). He lived a perfect life, took our sin upon Himself when He was crucified, and 3 days later rose again (Luke 23:44–24:3). When we receive Him as our Savior, we are given eternal life and become His children (John 1:12).
Tell someone the old, old story of Jesus and His love. They need some good news. —Anne Cetas
The good news of Christ is the best news in the world.
Alright! I am loving the daily devotions im getting from Our Daily Bread. Indeed, the above post is such a great reminder of the great and wonderful Good news we already know. But what exactly are we doing to tell others, others who are in this world filled with all the other lies?
I am not exactly strong in evangelising. But God has given me a gift in music, which i so passionately loved. It seems though from young, i've never been trained. I thank God for the many other trained people God put in my way, coz that's where i crash course here and there. Hee.. I think my greatest joy is to be having mental blocks over songs of praise to God. And then, when i am finally done, in my heart, its just filled with thanksgiving, then i'll share it online and pray really hard, that the billions of people surfing internet will get to see.
Sometimes, we get so caught up with our own problems, so focus on ourselves, we totally forgot how cool God is. Well, come on, just think of it, the Mighty Creator of the Universe, the giver of life coming to earth, to dwell with us. And He didnt just appear like *poof* on earth, He had to go through what all humans had to. From a fetus, to a new born, a toddler, a child, a teen, a young adult, to adulthood. God lei!! Going through all these? Just for us??? waaaahh...
Not to mention all the great miracles He did.
I think for me, my fave part of the story is while Jesus was at the cross. He definitely experienced what sometimes most of us are going through. Having your loved ones turning away from you. Jesus had such a perfect relationship with God, the Heavenly Father. Yet, because of the sins of the world, EVERY SINGLE SIN, PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE, on my Saviour Jesus, who had been spat on, whipped beyond recognition, tired from the whole day of trial and mockery....
Sometimes we have such shity days outside, all we look forward to, is a warm home to go home to. Someone who you know will be waiting for you at home, dinner all cooked, and all you want is a great time with the family before retiring to bed.
Yet sometimes, we go home, facing worst problems. And we really have no one to turn to. Yet, God will still put someone you can always speak to.
For Jesus, he was alone. I really cant imagine, or understand the pain He is going through. Physical, emotional. Who am I that God Almighty would do such thing for me?
You do realise, nothing we do can gain His favor. Its only through His love, His grace, through Jesus, that we are make righteous in God's eyes.
So basically, God did it, simply because He loves us.
Wooo.. It's so mind boggling, the fact is so simple, yet people find it hard to believe...
Well, complications are by melo-dramatic people.
God loves you, and i think you should at least be clear about that.
Are you frustrated with life? Everyday, it seems like there's no purpose, there's nothing to look forward to?
Maybe some have some illness, life's not getting better.
Yes, my life's still filled with heartaches, and most of the time, rejection from my own mum, but i thank God, she recognizes i am someone still able to depend on.
But i know at the end of my life, when its time to go, i have a wonderful home to go to, someone waiting to receive me, someone there to tell me how i have spent my life (so i am definately not gonna waste it on nonsense things), and most of all, to do my fave thing. PRAISE AND WORSHIP!
what are you waiting for?
