Giving is not only about money..

God loves a cheerful giver. —2 Corinthians 9:7

When the Los Angeles Times covered a 2008 conference championship soccer match between two Christian schools, Azusa Pacific University and Westmont College, it was about far more than winning the game. Three days earlier, a wildfire had swept through the Westmont campus, destroying several academic buildings, faculty homes, and student rooms. Unable to host the game, the rules required Westmont to forfeit. Instead, Azusa invited their opponents to play at their campus where they welcomed Westmont fans with free admission and lunch.

On the field, Westmont won an emotional 2-0 victory, while Azusa Pacific won admiration for their good will. LA Times reporter Bill Plaschke wrote: “Rarely in Southern California sports has there been a better show of sportsmanship than this, Azusa Pacific sacrificing its chance at a title defense to give Westmont a fair shot at taking it. As impressive as the resilience of the conquerors was the kindness of the conquered.”

So often we think only of money when the Bible calls us to give willingly and bountifully, “for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor. 9:7). Giving others a chance and offering hospitality to those who hurt is generosity that makes winners of everyone involved. —David McCasland

The gifts that we may give,

The deeds that we may do,

Most truly honor Christ

When self is given too. —D. De Haan

The manner of giving shows the character of the giver more than the gift itself.

Thank God i could always give my time. And i think that's my top love gift, be it receiving and giving.

Makes me wonder what some kids are doing nowadays? Some kids have wonderful parents, but they willing to spend their time with nonsense company.

Some kids have parents whose lives' hanging by the thread, but they spent their time listening to "wise" people and not spend time with their parents.

Hmmm.. How smart and God glorifying is that i wonder....

Was talking to mum yesterday. She told me how a few 13 and 14 years old girls got into trouble, coz they were misbehaving.. Like this 13/14 year old girl whom ran away from home with this NS guy, in the end, they got caught, and the guy got put in jail for the many charges he commited. This girl said she'll willingly wait for him to come out and marry him when she turns 18.

And in another case, this couple was having *that-thing" in school. The cleaner uncle found the room to be locked, and keep trying to open, when he finally did, this two were nude and enjoying it. The guy even punched the uncle....

Got me thinking.... Geeesh.. what this world is coming into? It's getting weirder and weirder. And it's definitely getting harder and harder for Christians to stand their ground..

Then i told mum about some silly kids who are so dreamy about fakers, so spell bounded by them, that they are real men. I told my mum, if i had the chance to sit with them. My first advice to them about finding a partner is, see how they are treating their parents.

Oh sure, they will flatter you, buy you nice things, etc. But it's only for now.. So please people, pray to God for wisdom, open your big eyes and see for yourself.

We're to be light and salt of the world. Not be of the world.
