Referral Letter

With all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. —Philippians 1:20

According to a long-held Christian tradition, the apostle Paul was beheaded and buried in Rome around ad 67. In 2009, scientists conducted carbon dating tests on what many believe to be his remains. While these tests on the bone fragments confirmed that they date from the first or second century, positive identification re-mains in question. But no matter where Paul’s bones rest, his heart lives on through his letters in the New Testament.

While imprisoned in Rome, Paul wrote to the followers of Jesus in Philippi about his purpose in life. He spoke of his “earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Phil. 1:20-21).

As we read Paul’s words today, they challenge us to examine our own hearts. Are we as passionate as he was about Jesus Christ? Is it our goal to honor Him in our everyday life?

Long after we’re gone, those who knew us will remember our hearts. May we, like Paul, create a legacy of hope and encouragement centered around Jesus Christ. —David McCasland

Lord, I would serve You day by day,
Doing Your will, let come what may;
Keep my heart faithful, strong, and true,
Always to trust and honor You. —Hess

We are Christ’s “letters of recommendation” to all who read our lives.

***************************************************************

I remembered being "wow"ed by one of the lessons in precept, by Kay Arthur.

"What is the legacy you'll leave behind?"

Honestly, what will people remember us for?

If everyone only remembers me as the fat one, er... I think even till death, that's not a nice thing to remember about me.

If everyone only remembers me as the funny one, er... So?

If everyone only remembers me as someone with theatre/ stage experience, er... So?

All the above, at least to me, is not at all impactful to any lives.

I wish to be remembered as the kindergarten teacher.

I wish to be remembered as the prodigal who returned.

I wish people will remember my testimony, of how Jesus turned and saved me.

I wish people will remember and appreciate what Jesus has done for the whole wide world.

I want people to remember all these, and know Christ.

That's the only purpose i should be driven for, that's my purpose in life.

Everyday, YES, there are moments i fell... By God's grace, I can get up again.

Everyday, YES, there are moments i am weaken... By God's strength, I can walk.

Everyday, YES, there are moments i am sad.. By God's gift of His only Son, I have peace, joy and above all, loved by Him.

What is the happiness you are relying in your life?

Isn't it tiring with all the efforts you have to put in, to maintain that happiness?

Don't you want someone who can offer you everlasting joy, peace, life?

Don't you want someone who won't fail nor disappoint you?

hey, hey, i found that someone. I wish you could too.

And yes, i am very preachy, naggy..

At least, if that's how you're going to remember me after i am gone,

that'll be my greatest achievement I have ever attain in my whole life.

For as long as I shall live,
I will testify to love
